Happy Birthday To Me!
Today I'm turning 24!
When Matt and I went to Louisiana to spend Christmas with my family, we also celebrated my birthday.
Birthdays in my family always start out with Meche's donuts for breakfast. They are the best donuts you'll ever eat.
I was so excited that all my cousins could be in town. I'm obviously getting older but it's so wired to see all my baby cousins grow up!! As the oldest girl and a baby hog, I always had one (or two) of them in my arms or on my hip. I've been babysitting for as long as I could remember and changing all of their diapers. Now they're looking at colleges, driving, in high school.. slow down!!!
Here's the girls all together
We're obviously related. :)
So what did I get for my birthday?! It was so unexpected yet so exciting!!!
My mom did the beautiful wrapping of the gift in the first picture. She got me a bobbin side winder, a bag, and A SERGER!!
I'm looking forward to more sewing projects. I've got a lot to learn!!
People who have birthdays close to Christmas sometimes get "jipped" by getting a gift that count for both. Well, I really don't mind. Especially this year. My dad did the combo gift and I was shocked.
Yay!! No more pictures from my pitiful camera phone. I'm in love... and have a lot to learn, once again.
And to top it all off, I got home yesterday to find that my sick, febrile, achy husband, ventured out into the cold and surprised me with these
Isn't he the greatest. Last night, he kept telling me I was in a funny mood and laughing at me. Actually, I told him that I was just beaming and bubbling over because I'm so happy to be married to him and so in love.
Today, we're just sitting here watching movies. Matt is supposed to be working but he's still sick. He attempted to make breakfast even though he's nauseated, weak, and can't eat himself. So I'm spending my birthday, taking care of my favorite patient... and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Actually while writing this blog. I had some surprise visitors. Sally came over with her niece, Lyric, and her nephew, Dash. They made and brought me some birthday cupcakes! I wish I would have taken pictures of Dash sharing his cupcake with his baby sister. They are too cute. Thanks to everyone for making my birthday special.
I am beyond blessed to have such wonderful family, friends, and husband.
