I'm Competing!

Just over a year ago, I embarked on this new hobby of sewing.  Having never threaded a machine before, I wasn't sure how this was going to work out.  Regardless of how little I knew, I was enjoying myself and learning a lot.  Still considering myself somewhat of a beginner, you can imagine my shock when I was selected to compete in a friendly sewing competition.

I came across a blog a few months ago called, Mommy by day... Crafter by night. I was intrigued by this contest she was hosting because it happens to be named after one of my favorite shows. I submitted my Shirley Temple dress just for kicks and didn't really think much about it after that.

On Wednesday night, I received an email letting me know I had be selected into the top 12.  Out of 127 entries, the 5 judges (who are all talented bloggers, seamstresses, and crafters themselves) had picked the top 12 and I'm one of them!!!  I honestly don't know if I'll even make it to the next round but just to be in the top 12 has me excited beyond belief. 

The competition will work similar to the show (So You Think You Can Dance).   It will take place during the 4 weeks of January. Each week has a different theme. The readers will have 24 hours to vote on their favorite entries and then the bottom 3 will be eliminated.  By the end there will be 3 left and there will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.   Mommy by day... Crafter by night has gathered some amazing sponsors for this and the prizes are incredible.
