How
far along? 38 weeks. Baby is supposedly the size of a watermelon. Wow!
Total weight gain: 28 lbs. :/
Maternity clothes? Still the same. While I still wear my pre-pregnancy jeans, it's getting awfully difficult and uncomfortable to secure them. I prefer to stay in workout clothes or PJs when I can.
Stretch marks? Nope
Best moment this week: My work surprised me with a little shower!! They called me into the break room during lunch and they had food, cake, and gifts. So sweet! :)
Miss anything: Nothing really this week.
Movement: Still moving! I tend to notice her move more in the evenings. However, she's been moving a little more during the day. My belly has provided this very convenient little shelf that I prop the babies on when I feed them at work. Claire must take notice and seems to always feel the need to say hello... or claim her territory.
Food cravings:Nothing specific. Trying to tame the sweet tooth in these last few weeks to avoid her gaining too much weight. Of course that cake at the shower didn't help!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Symptoms: I've had some cramps and the constant feeling of a full bladder. Otherwise, not much else.
Labor Signs: Nothing. I'm going to try walking a lot more starting now. Hopefully, that will kick things into gear.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Preparation: Feeling pretty ready. We didn't do any other preping this week. Last week I mentioned that Jamie and I put the dresser together. Nix was a big help too. She's very curious about all this baby stuff.
Looking forward to: Thanksgiving! And the next appointment.
Midwife report: Measuring
right on track at 38 weeks. Baby's heart rate is in the 140s. She's still
head down. I ask for a weight estimate again. This time I was told she's probably around 6.5 - 7 pounds now and predicts a 7.5 to 8 pounds "max" at birth. I like that prediction the best! I've loved seeing the midwives, especially Titi, who saw me this visit. She's been soooo encouraging. She tells me over and over again how perfect this pregnancy is and how excited she is for me. Every times she feels the baby's position she says "Ohh such a cute little baby in there! Perfect! Just perfect!" It's so nice to hear all her supportive words.
Around here, we've been enjoying the cooler weather and Nix and I enjoy snuggling and resting. I've been working a lot too. I picked up another extra shift this past week. By Saturday night, when I got home, I was exhausted. I was trying so hard to stay awake and watch my Baylor Bears win but my body was not having it.
I have another appointment in this week and will be back with a 39 week update! Feel free to send any encouragement and prayers this way :)
