Claire: 3 months

Age:   3 months

Height 24.5 inches

Weight:  a hefty 15 pounds 14 ounces :)

Milestones: She "talks" quite a bit now with lots of different sounds and inflections. She has also gotten really good at reaching and grabbing her toys that hang from her play mat.

Sleep: The day she turned 11 weeks old, we arrived in Dallas. That night she slept for 9 hrs straight before we had to wake her up to go take family pictures. For the next 2 or so weeks, she slept great. Just recently (which should probably be addressed in the next update since this one is late) she's gotten restless at night. I've heard of 3-4 month sleep regression so that must be what's going on. A growth spurt coupled with learning new skills is probably affecting her sleep

Worst Moment: The 4 hour drive to Dallas @ 11 weeks old. Sheesh! I knew it would be rough because we left after Matt got off of work. In the evenings is her fussiest time and she loves to cluster feed. Well that doesn't work so well when you're strapped in a car seat. So it was 4 hours of an unhappy baby! Thankfully, we timed the ride home better and it was much more pleasant.

Health: She's pretty healthy! She has developed some eczema which we expected. Matt and I both had it as babies and most babies in my family have it. Matt actually has an eczema flare up now and I had it for many years after infancy. Through research, I'm finding out that it's usually related to diet, a food allergy, and or an internal imbalance like candida overgrowth. I denied this for so long thinking that people tend to overreact to the "milk allergy" thing with babies and had refused to make any changes to my diet. But after all the reading I've done, I decided to give it a try. Matt and I have eliminated dairy from our diet, tremendously (nearly eliminated) gluten, and avoiding refined sugar. It supposedly takes several weeks to get out of my system and then another few weeks to get out of Claire's system. We're 1.5 weeks and and already seeing improvement though.

Eating:  She's spacing out feedings more and more. And like I mentioned earlier, we're making some changes to our diets which means Claire is too. Sorry baby girl, no more chocolate milk :)

Teeth: None yet but she sure is drooling a TON and chomping on her fist all the time.

Likes:   She's absolutely enamored with the chandelier. She likes to be upright, reading books, and she still loves bath time.

Dislikes:  Being in the car for 4 hours? :) But she better get used to it because we need to make a trip to Lafayette and we have several road trips planned this summer!

Other happenings: We went to Dallas to visit Matt's family. She met her great-grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins for the first time.
