Claire: 6 Months
Age: 6 months old! Half way to her first birthday and we can't believe how time is flying!
Height: 27 inches (82nd percentile)
Weight: About 19 lbs (90th percentile)
can't keep her on the play mat anymore...
Milestones: She's all over the place!! She rolls like crazy. She scoots around by puller her self with her arms or pushing her self with her legs. We are so close to having a crawler! She mostly sits up herself for short periods of time. And she's officially a hip baby now.
Sleep: Still eats a few times at night. There's been some nights where she wakes up more frequently than usual and I think it's related to teething.. or maybe a growth spurt. She's still napping 45 minutes at a time several times a day. It's funny to see how different babies are even just in their sleep habits.
Best Moment: It seems that this bullet point has been skipped since the first month post. What a shame, b/c there's been so many awesome moments. One of the best ones in this past month was when Matt was holding her on the couch and I walked up to get her and she reached her hands up for me. That's the only time she's ever done that so it may have been a coincidence but it sure did melt my heart! :)
Worst Moment: She had a few days where she just didn't seem like herself. They weren't terrible but I could tell she was uncomfortable. She would be laughing and playing and it'd turn into a cry for a few seconds... then back to a laugh. Those darn teeth better come in soon!
Health: Still a healthy growing girl!
Eating: She nurses on demand but now that she's more mobile, playful, and older she's sticking to eating about every 3 hours. We'll try some solids this month and I can't wait to see her face. Having nothing but breast milk for 6 months and then trying a new taste and texture. I'm sure it'll rock her world.
Likes: Loves to touch people's faces. Especially the mouth. She is still obsessed with the dog and loves it when Nix licks her hand and feet. She still loves being outside and really loves laying under the trees. She's also developed a new fascination with tags. Forget the toy, if it has a tag on it, she's going for it. On the same note, her new favorite "toys" are plastic cups and her feet. She enjoys songs and hand motions still too. She's starting to get the hang of 'peek-a-boo' and enjoys playing that with her burp cloth over her face. Another new discovery is her head - she likes to reach up and scratch her scalp while she eats. It sorta drives me nuts b/c she gives herself some 'dandruff' by doing so. ;)

Dislikes: She usually dislikes the carseat while we buckle her in but not all the time. And usually once it's buckled she's fine. She still dislikes putting her arms through the PJ's. Not necessarily her regular clothes but definitely the PJs.
Other Happenings:
She favors her left hand for now. I know that can change but as for now, we consider her a lefty.
Pa & Cookie (Matt's parents) came in for a visit and we went down to Kemah Boardwalk in Galveston. It was super windy, cold, and not all that exciting but we had fun together. We also took them to the local brewery and to eat crawfish.

Erin came in for a visit and and to interview at my hospital. She got the job but issues with school prevented her from moving here. We were so excited until we found out that news. Stop being such a nerd Erin! ;) Claire misses you!
Proud to be her mom!
We celebrated my first Mother's Day. Matt treated me to my favorite meals and was extra helpful with Claire to allow me to rest a little. I am incredibly blessed to share this life with him and to be trusted by God to raise this girl. I couldn't do this without Matt and I definitely couldn't be the wife or mother I strive to be without the help and grace of God.
